So who gets left in the dust? Shanahan or McDaniels?

Schefter reporting San Diego is hiring Anthony Lynn

So only one job left and two guy who were originally thought to have the pick of the litter, left fighting (or running away from) the San Francisco job

Caserio denied an interview for the 9ers GM spot, I have my doubts now that JM will take the job

Patricia is in a position where he will probably take any offer he gets. Apparently his appearance is scaring people off

I think it is more that the Bills wanted a coach who could play to their strengths. They have a reasonable amount of talent on defense. McDermott will optimize output on that side of the ball IMO.

Lynn, meanwhile, is a good hire for the Chargers who have a rising, talented RB in Melvin Gordon. What Lynn was able to do with the Bills backfield this season was nothing short of amazing. I think this is the right move for the Chargers. The best way to make an older QB last longer is to have a fantastic running game.

Seems like a weird lot of coaching hires this year. Bunch of guys that have some media hype to them but not many skins on the wall or even any kind of innovative style to them

Lynn was a RB coach like 5 months ago.

Good, I hope Patricia continues to scare people off until NO has a vacancy..

Taking a top 5 back in the league and giving him the ball? That qualifies as amazing?

I mean, listen, McCoy is a beast, but they had the #1 rushing attack with a paltry OL and next to no passing game.

Their Oline is pretty good at run blocking and having a running QB helps those numbers despite a limited passing game. That entire offense is built to give the ball to McCoy and bleed clock, which they did effectively

That's not some otherworldly thing he did over there. And it seems like bad business to make a hire to improve one singular area of your football team, with the exception of possibly QB development for obvious reasons

So Rams get Wade Phillips as DC, imagine if they had either of these guys as HC to run the offense. ill never understand these teams rushing to hire a coach.

he's made it clear he wants the job. He and Caserio are not a package deal.

I'd say 2/3 it will be JM

As a Saints fan, given the past history of other BB Disciples I fully support this move as well.

Saints fans obsession with the Niners is truly mind boggling

Why?

The Saints got wrecked by the 9ers in the Montana/glory years, and then the 9ers knocked the best Saints team OAT off in the playoffs. Why would it be mind boggling for the Saints to hate them?

Yeah because the Niners were the only team beating up on the Saints back in the day

McDaniels is waiting for Belichick to retire.

Turned them down reportedly bc he was worried about uprooting his family across the country for a job that has had 3 coaches in 3 years

If he was waiting on BB, then he wouldn't have even interviewed.

I.E. Niners told him they were honing in on Shanahan so he "removed his name from consideration"
