So how bad does LSU look if after a 2 month search they settle for Orgeron?

Especially when it seems we only tried to get Fisher (who turned us down for the umpteenth time) or Herman (who Texas swoops in and steals out of our hands). We will look like the little kid who got their ice cream cone stolen from them by the big bad kid down the street. I really cannot believe we are going to end up with a Defensive line coach who was fired by Ole Miss after a 2 1/2 month 'national' search. Is that what LSU has become?

LSU admins would just look incompetent. The fans cheering about it just would look uninformed at worst. Whatcha gonna do?

It'll be a national embarrassment. Joe needs to be run out of town.

yes they do. I agree. And for a reason and it is not because they love LSU or its fans and want what's best for them, lol. . It's because they love the quotes and funny entertainment they get out of our coaches and fans. They want to see the circus continue- it sells tickets.

.....which is why you don't fire your best coach in modern history without dry ink on the next guy's contract.

No they don't.
But ESPN does have a stake in Texas via TLN.
That may be what you're feeling.

Good lord such negativity.

Ed O was gonna be given the shot from day one. It's not like LSU turned to him after no one was left.

Jimbo and Herman were gonna be ahead of Ed O obviously. Jimbo wanted to come but wanted a Saban type deal. He ain't Saban.

Herman, well if he doesn't come it's because he either was scared he couldn't get the job done in La and didn't want to set his career back or LSU was smart enough to not go all out on a guy that's relatively unproven as a HC.

I think LSU has played it well. Everyone says they shite the bed so far but negotiations are more than just one person. Lots of moving parts in all this and they can't control them all

It depends on strategy. LSU's is splitting the money 3 ways. HC, OC, DC. Let your HC concentrate on what he does best...Recruiting & Motivating. Let the coordinators game plan & coach. The potential could be a Kiffen - Aranda combo. LSU is not getting in a bidding war against Texas for a coach who wants to be there and I don't blame them.

we hardly put up with him. It was agonizing torture for the last 3 or 4 years.

I totally agree with this. Let Coach O coach and go out and spend the money on a coordinator to pair with Aranda. We've already lost recruits after we fired Miles, why risk the rest leaving after letting O go. We all bashed Miles for being an outsider, we finally have one of our own in the position and we are so quick to run him off. Give him a chance!!

You understand that if Herman goes to Texas, Aranda may follow?

Just saying I understand the want for an elite hire but if we can't get a top dog I don't see O as worse than miles

People want an offensive guru but miles didn't really do anything to help that
