This will be costly no? Will the termination of Les + the new hire restrict coordinators & position coaches, or do you think LSU is going all in? Have fans thought about this yet?

It cost to have nice things and we want nice things. Lets see how this season plays out first.

I sometimes wonder what kind of meal allowance Arky has given to Bert. It must be costly

I firmly believe the preliminary deal was made weeks ago. I mean don't you think the hiring of Aranda last year might have some meaning also?

His buyout is $9.6 million over 6 years minus whatever he makes at a new job. That's cheap for a big time sec program.
Rumor is LSU is willing to offer $36mil over 6 years for their guy plus another $3-4mil for assistants

If you're willing to pay your coach 10 mil to go sit on his recliner, do you really think they're not willing to pay the next guy whatever it takes? Money is obviously not an issue.

It is when your state is poor and your university is broke.

Yeah, they're definitely gonna pay les 10 mil to go away then stiff the next guy. that's a sound business decision.

Neither have anything to do with LSU football.

I think that's out now. TPTB didn't have the stomach last year, even though the athletic department had the money. They have the stomach now, hence the quick axe.

Neither pays the coaches salary so not sure why that's relevant.

true, but none of that pays for lsu football. i would imagine lsu football makes at least one and a half times what fsu football does.

with our poor state funding and resources, it's also important for football to continue making lots of money, and that's not cheap.

While it will be costly, LSU is a major d1 school and a sec school. Regardless of who they hire, it will more than likely be a homerun hire.

Go look at the financials. LSU football is rich.

Would be tough. Texas is Herman's dream job i.e. Meyer tOSU kind. I think between the two Texas wins out. Just saying
