I have a lot of confidence in Freeze when he goes head to head in recruiting against Ed.

Go read Meat Market and get back to me. Ed is an absolute monster on the recruiting trail.

It's not beyond the realm of possibility that we take both. Some talk that Collins is taking David Turner with him to Florida, at which point things start to come into focus, and a logical placement for Ogre opens up.

A singular hire of Ogre when our empty slot is DC/LB coach doesn't make a damn bit of sense, although you can't rationalize that with a faction of our fanbase no matter how clearly Orgeron's failed resume as a playcaller is spelled out. I'd love to have him. Hope we get him. Not as playcalling DC or linebackers though. Give him all the titles and money you want as long as he's coaching DL and not calling the defense.

Gonna have to pony up right here if we're going to be a have going forward. Will be interesting to see...

Would frustrate me that we had a down year at DL as a whole, and have had multiple misses at that position recruiting and yet we let the perfect fit to solve that problem slip away from us out of Miles's "loyalty" to any coach who hasn't committd NCAA violations or found a lateral job.

Oh and Ole Miss Fans, don't kid yourself about Orgeron as a coach and recruiter. as a playcaller he's an unknown, but that guy taught Freeze and Wilson, and also left an Ole Miss roster with enough talent to allow Houston Dale Nutt to have back-to-back 9 win seasons in Ole Miss.

He will be a menace on the recruiting trail.

If you read Meat Market you see that he actually learned a lot from Freeze. They had a solid back and forth relationship when it came to recruiting. They're pretty even.

He'd be a monster hire for State.

I'll give you he's a better HC, but even as a recruiter? C'mon man. The pelts on the wall for Orgeron cover that sumbitch compared to Freeze who has dgaf one great class, period.

Orgeron's never been a DC in his life, this will be a complete disaster like Sal Sunseri was at Tennessee.

glad he ended up at State and not on a staff that's a real threat to LSU in Louisiana recruiting

Don't be stupid if Orgeron ends up at TAMU, Miss St or Ark "don't think he would go back to Ole Miss where he was the HC but if he would throw that school in also" all SEC schools and all close enough for families not to be concerned over too far away from home. He could do some damage. If he stays out of the SEC that is what is best for LSU.

The thing is Mullen has been good at finding good 2 n 3 stars. Maybe he thinks only way to beat Bama is to have the depth to beat them

Hotty Toddy about to shite their pants....they know O will kill their recruiting....Freeze will short his pants if O walks into any room he's in..Then again I don't think Ed Orgeron will be interested in those soft guys they recruit at Ole Miss anyway..

Hey, there are a couple of super La. guys who top the list in recruiting and are D coaches. HC Jay Thomas and HC Daryl Daye are as good as they come. O is not the only coach out there from La.

Hell, I grew up with these two guys but they will both tell you they are not at the same level as Orgeron...

He may have learned something from Freeze, but don't kid yourself...Ed O is the best recruiter in all of college football. He will deal OM and LSU some lost recruits, that's what he does.

Oregon could not make a patch on either of these coaches pants. Come on....They have been DL coaches, DCs, and HCs. Just because O was in LA...means little.
