Roy Williams from Kansas to UNC

Assuming this Jimbo stuff is confirmed.
It reminds me of when Roy Williams left the storied blue blood program of Kansas to go back home to UNC, also another storied blue blood program.
He had even just had a national championship appearance and consecutive final four appearances.
For Jimbo, LSU could just be where he felt welcomed and home. In the heat of a divorce and player rapey stuff, Jimbo may feel isolated and out of place regardless of wins.
Jimbo just wants to come home folks.

Fisher graduated from Samford. First job was Samford. First SEC job was Auburn.
LSU isn't home.
LSU isn't home.

Just because he didn't start there, doesn't mean he doesn't like it there enough to consider it "home". I know he doesn't originally have LSU origins. He did coach at LSU for 6 years though. The Samford connection is how he connected with Bowden and married his daughter.
He is quoted glowing about his time at LSU. He may have actually meant that instead of just trying to give the local paper a favorable quote based on the readership.

The melt on this board will be amazing when Jimbo stays at FSU.

Had no idea Jimbo played and has a degree from LSU? If this is anything like Roy going back home.

Growing up I moved around a lot. I lived in 7 different places and six different states, due to my dads job, all by the time I graduated high school. Wasn't born in Louisiana, family isn't from there, didn't live there in my formative years as a child, and only lived there 4 years total, but I'll always consider it home. It's a truly unique state, with a culture no one else can replicate, and that obviously resonates strongly with some people.
Point is, it doesn't have to be his first place or where he was the longest in order to be what he considers home.

See above. Has nothing to do with paper records.

Of course it does. Only reason why Roy left a blue blood for another blue blood, it is because he actually played and coached under the man who built the program. Jimbo with a past with LSU is nothing remotely like what you posed in OP.

Incorrect. He called Carolina home, he respected coach Smith etc.
He even turned Carolina down once.
If that's all that was required (he coach under Smith and graduate from UNC), why didn't he go the first time?

"Unless you've been involved or played there, you can't explain what it's like to play at Carolina,'' Lebo said. "Roy understands the massive responsibility and the guy can coach the game of basketball. He's classy and he fits everything coach Smith believes in.''
Clearly it's more emotional than anything.
Kansas would have named buildings after him if he had stayed. It took a lot to get him to leave Kansas for UNC. It wasn't an obviously no-brainer decision for him regardless. He still had to want to be at Carolina.

How do you know? You have no idea the emotional impact LSU had on him. You just assume most time + what came first = home. That's not true in every circumstance.

Clueless LSU fan is clueless.
I eagerly look forward to LSU firing 10 wins a season Les and going the route of Nebraska after they fired their 10 win coach.
Anyone hear of Nebraska lately?
