I wouldn't let Rob Ryan run an automatic lawnmower.

I'll say it again, Fletcher Mackel is a clown. Everyone in NOLA knows that, not a reliable source

Good for him, at least his kid could stay at Newman. Bad for Tulane.

He'd probably be able to recruit lights out. He loves New Orleans so no doubt he'd be interested.

Everyone always assumes everyone is great at recruiting. Its take a rare and weird skill set to be a great recruiter, but if there's any goofy or different coach everyone bangs the drum that they would be an amazing recruiter.

If it's that easy, why is Saban getting paid 5 mil a year?

Tulane could do worse. Payton is the opposite of Miles--regardless of DC, the saints defense sucks. Not sure why fans keep blaming the DC when the players are clearly the problem.

Players love the guy and he can sell an NFL pedigree.

Ryan was bad as a DC before the Saints.

Recruiting isn't about player liking you. Recruiting is mostly about being able to recruit parents

Ryan might not be a great DC, but Payton goes through DCs like Miles goes through OCs and the defense always sucks. I don't understand why saints fans think this firing will make much difference.

Because in his entire career as a DC his team has finished above 8-8 just one time.

Just because you're a scorned Saints fan doesn't mean he would be an awful coach for Tulane.

I'm not a saints fan.

Just someone who doesn't understand why everyone thinks any Joe Schmo with a good smile could pick up recruiting like it was riding a bike
