rebuilding job

With the resources they have and the recruiting mine they have access to, UT should not be referred to as a rebuilding job. They were one win away from winning the Big 12 this year and playing in a BCS bowl game.

Briles would be a grand slam hire for them IMO. He knows that state and the football landscape better than anybody.

Dantonio is a great hire, except for his age.

He is 57. Do they go after someone in their late 50's?

I must say the subtle trolling on this board is downright historic.

It only took him 3 years to win the national championship at Alabama.

He could do it at Texas. It is not that far-fetched.

Yeah that program is a mess IMO.

But even at a mess they were a win away from a BIG 12 championship.

UT could hand Saban a blank check and just tell him to fill it out for what he thinks is fair.

Texas didn't let Mack go without knowing who their guy already is. If so, they'd got rid of Mack last year.

So then if Mack does step down why would they even say a number? I would just say whats is going to take to get you here.

So what? Yet they were still a win away from winning the Big 12 and playing in a BCS Bowl. That is not what you call rebuilding. Whatever the frick Arkansas is doing right now, that is called rebuilding mode.

people keep saying this, and while it's true that UT could, if they wanted to, outbid anyone and everyone if that's what they wanted to do.....they simply aren't going to pay Nick Saban the kind of money it would take to price out Alabama. I mean that would be something like 30 million plus.
