If you believe O made a mistake waiting on Kiffin.
Then you have to believ that next year if Aranda wants to interview around for HC position you have to get rid of him and go hire another DC .
So quit bashing O. He had the premier OC committed to LSU if he doesn't get a HC job . He was with waiting for. Now you go get the next best you can find .

Whatever. He put the program in jeopardy because of a friend's "word". LSU comes before that.

O waited in Kiffin because he believes he is the best OC in cfb. That's what you do. The better question was would you wait on Aranda to decide what job he was going to take or would you just move on. Muscona was right you can't pick a coach just to land a player that might or might not work out that will only be with your program for three years if he is a as good as you think. The long term projection of the program is most important. Besides how would it have looked for Kiffin who is obviously needing to rehab his image left the man who helped him rehab that image to jump to a rival within the same division. Perception likely kept Kiffin from taking the LSU job.

I do understand this as it seems a bit frustrating. But it is no different. If your best friend says I am coming if .... then you believe it. No difffent than if your existing DC says I am staying if .....

I think you may be right about Kiffins ultimate decision. I looked at it as he needed to prove he could do it away from daddy Saban. That he could stay disciplined away from him.
But he obviously felt like he had to prove at any college level team that he could be a head coach. Maybe he didn't want the potentia bad press you describe " hothead Kiffins leaves Saban cause he wants to kick his arse "
Time will tell if he chose wisely . I wish him the best cause I do believe he could be a great power five coach . I have said and will say it again Spurrier ..... and o yeh glad we don't have to play him for awhile

My logic really revolves around someone being the best and saying they will come if ...
So if Saban had told Alleva " I am coming if Bama wins a NC this year" and of course Alleva has reason to believe it. Then yes Alleva would have been wrong to not wait . So the logic is
