I don't think Canada is anything special or a great hire but he may be the best that LSU can do right now.

That pre-snap motion though.

Their QB was 9th in the country in passing efficiency.

What was his yards per attempt?

Matt Canada isn't going to fix our QB problem.

Helfrich, Riley, Scott, Gilbert, Sark...I certainly think LSU could do better.

Recruiting is another aspect of this hire - every single name I just mentioned would be significantly better in the recruiting department than Canada.

He had 9 yards/attempt. Good for 10th in the nation

Sark has rumors swirling that he can't control himself as a fricking quality control guy, and you think we should make him an SEC OC right now? frick that.

Helfrich comes with a LOT of risk. We would have a 2-3 year O Line transition, at which point things had better work out, or it's another 2-3 year to recruit away from the spread option. He has a high ceiling, but simultaneously a very low basement.

The other guys are fine, but Riley's not leaving OU for Orgeron. Why would he? I really liked the idea of Gilbert bringing then veer and shoot, but I think Canada will be a great fit with the current roster. After they are gone, we'll see how things turn out.

Helfrich has only called plays twice in his career- frost and kelly made that offense
Sark is a drunk
Gilbert got figured out and his offense sucked in November

I think you're confused, you should re-read the posts.

I think Riley and Art Briles are the only two homerun hires left. I don't think you beat Florida and Bama with Canada's offense, they're too fast.
