Based on Alleva's search technique, Alleva. There wouldn't be anybody else.

He probably would have actually done his job and negotiated with Herman's agent - as opposed to throwing a hissy fit and walking away when his "handshake agreement" was nullified.

Well after cutting loose Miles and Cam, BDP would have been the only guy left on the staff with head coaching experience. So he gets the interim tag and it'll plays out the same from there. We still get our 1 time head coach with a losing record.

Wouldn't have mattered. Herman's dream job was UT. There was no amount of money or negotiation that would've changed that.

I don't know why people don't get this. The man wanted to go to UT. Alleva made the mistake of wasting his time on Herman when he should have expanded his search to realistic candidates.

Speculation of Alleva actually doing his job is a total waste of speculation and the time it takes to think it. It never has happened and never will happen. It's Alleva.

Depends on who Alleva had a coupon for

I guess it would have been Fedora or Gundy. I think Gundy out of his Okie Lite comfort zone at a school with studs would be a great study.

I think Miles finishes the season and a legitimate search takes place. Something tells me that Orgeron had a hand in Miles getting canned when he did. He got in Alleva's ear and played him for the long con, which paid off yesterday.

I would have been quite satisfied with Gundy. It may not have worked out, but it certainly had the potential of being a great hire (with a much higher floor than hiring Orgeron).
