Is Grimes worthy of keeping around? If not, why names should we go after? I think we desperately need upgrades on both sides of the LoS in order to get on Bama's level and that's obvious.

The run blocking has been good but the pass blocking has been awful. Is it talent or scheme?

both, Grimes square pegs lineman. We need tackles and use them as such, not flipflop linemen all over the place.

This was the position that Miles had his hands on the most. Grimes didn't have a choice with who played what position. I don't think we have seen what Grimes can really do. You could see this during practices at the coaches clinic. By the way, the same happened with Stud too!

I've seen it, it is not great. Grimes was responsible know for playing the worst OT I've ever seen in my life.

His scounting and roster mamagement are questionable too. But the man can flat out recruit. If he wants a OL recruit, he gets them.

This is 100% correct, went to many practices in the last few years and Miles spent 85% of the time with the O-Line while Grimes watched and made some comments. He spent the other 10% with the running backs and 5 minutes watching the QB's. In that order. I still believe Kevin would be an unbelievable hire as O-Line coach.

Maybe we should promote him to head coach.

It is not all Grimes. Miles micro manged the OL. Miles wanted Guards. The reason we ran the ball 70%. Our only true tackle played center, but EP was best option at 2nd most important pre snap postion.. KJ Malone did much better at LT than I thought. He was pretty much shuffling guards around to find 2 tackles.

Grimes is a great recuiter and teach. LSU has very little holding penatlies compared to previous coaches. The line improved after Miles left.

I would give him 75% chance of returning.

Kevin Mawae is being talked about as a replacement if Grimes leaves. I know Kevin well from church. He is a true Tiger and would likely jump if offered. I dont think he would want to interview after what happened last time. O would have to just offe which I belive he would do.

I was in favor of seeing Grimes moved out the door, but I don't think it happens this year. We lose Austin Deculus if we fire him, and we need natural tackles BADLY. This kid is good enough to see PT next year at a position of need. With that being the case and so many other changes happening (Peveto, possibly Juluke), I would bet he gets a temporary reprieve.

Not surprising, glad he's gone.
