A Florida State fan told me that of course, Fisher was never coming to LSU.

That fan drinks a lot of FSU kool-aid, but I am not sure of Fisher's interest level in LSU right now. I know his agent, Jimmy Sexton has done everything to help insure that Jimbo's bank account keeps getting bigger.

That's what I thought. Nothing is coming from the LSU side.

Like one other poster said, I'll assume Jimbo is still in play until FSU announces they've reached an agreement to retain him. Which I wouldn't be surprised to hear tomorrow before the UF game.

Jimbo has always been, and still is, LSU's #1 target. I have no doubt that after what transpired last night that his people have contacted LSU's people about bargaining. In the end, Texas gets who they want and LSU gets who they want. All of this posturing snd leveraging is just business.

I believe Jimbo has been Alleva's guy all along. To me, the question is whether LSU will be willing to commit to a deal that will be able to pull him out of Tallahassee.

My worry is that Alleva moved on to Herman once Jimbo and Sexton demanded a long-term deal with all that that entails. UT loses to TCU, UT fires Strong and gets Herman, and LSU is left out to dry. My guess is that if FSU and Jimbo reached a new deal it will be announced tomorrow before their game.

It was/will take a crazy offer to get him to leave. The talk of him wanting to leave FSU was overblown

Well convince yourself. Fisher will not be this year or any year the LSU coach. Really doesn't want anything to do with it. Leverages for a raise which is pissing off some FSU brass. He's gonna leave FSU, just not for LSU. Loves the Birmingham/Tuscaloosa area. Played college ball here, Very close to Saban. They talk A LOT. ALways says the state of Alabama gave hi a chance to play college ball and loves the passion.

I'll leave it at that.

Agreed. All of this churn is based on espn. They've been dead wrong about lsu coaches in the past and for all we know they could have gotten their scoop from message boards.

Serious question, based on what? The "jimbo has said no" narrative is all over this place but there's really nothing concrete that backs this up. Are we all going by the ESPN ticker?

There has never been anyone with credible information that said the LSU/Jimbo negotiations failed. As once DALSU and Random changed their predictions from Jimbo to Herman, all the Herman homers started wetting their panties and assumed that the negotiations with Jimbo had failed. Nonetheless, LSUtigers9458 says that Jimbo is a done deal already and that he will be introduced as LSU's new head coach probably on Monday.

Who provided those reports? An agent? A message board?

No one. Only the Herman homers have said that, but they don't have anything concrete, they just have an obsession for Herman.

It sounded like Jimbo was in just for more money than LSU thought he was worth.

If the 10 yrs 6.5 mil story is true. That sounds like a guy that was not real serious about leaving. That long of a deal is crazy

It's not true. According to LSUtigers9458, it's $6.75 million dollars and with incentives it could be as much as $7.5 million dollars a year and a housing stipend and it's a five year deal as opposed to a 10 year deal. He also reports that it's a done deal already and that barring anything unforeseen that Jimbo could be introduced as LSU's new head football coach probably on Monday.

Actually, it's already a done deal dude. Jimbo will be introduced as LSU's next head football coach probably on Monday if not sooner, and it's not a 10 year deal, it's a five year deal, according to LSUtigers9458 who has a source at Florida State very close to Jimbo and Pruitt and also two sources inside the LSU war room working on hiring the next head football coach.

Doesnt that sound a little far fetched? That we have a deal in place with Jimbo and nothing has leaked?

Sounds like FSU and Fisher are close to a new agreement. Not sure if it will be announced before the Florida game or not.

Right? It's a super secretive hire and everything I'd be guarded to death but here are all of the exact specifics of everything.
