He seems to have lost his mojo after leaving USC though.

This. I couldn't care less if I would get fired in 3 years.

Is Chow a pro-style guy? I know he worked for the Titans. But I thought that Chow was credited from the Air Raid spread during his time at BYU.

So would I. Even if I get fired, I'm still living in Hawaii.

Chow is a West Coast coast offense guy not Air-Raid. Bill Walsh, Dan Coryell and Lavelle Edwards were all founders of different variations of the West Coast offense. Chow learned under Edwards as did Mike Holmgren who later took concepts of Edwards spread with him to the 49ers.

Chow ran those good USC pro style offenses. Ever since then....... nothing of note.

Like y'all said I can't see this working.

Excellent Hire for Hawaii. Chow is a good offensive coach and is from Hawaii. If he can get a few recruits and put together a good staff, he will do well. I hope he has a good program and wins some games!

This was more about him getting away from UCLA than the job he took, imo

He knows thep assing game, though, so it might work

He was the OC at Utah this year, not UCLA.

This is the problem. Chow is known for being an abrasive guy who doesn't recruit. This is the big reason he hasn't had a HC job until now

Maybe being home will change that? June Jones proved you can be successful there

the people in Hawaii love their program like a BCS school... their state isn't big enough to support one though
