"The Big House" is eerily similar to a church I go to.

was just thinking the same thing... they have been turned down by Kirk Ferentz and Greg Schiano now (and I suppose Les Miles to some point as well)

they haven't had to search for a coach since Schembechler all the way back in 1969... every coach since then has come up as assistants... they obviously have no idea how to conduct the whole process

Brian Kelly might be their guy after all despite some of the baggage.

Seriously, that's how these people think. I really think they almost believe a coach should pay THEM for the privilege of coaching in Ann Arbor.

I went to the D II school Grand Valley St. when Kelly was coaching there and he turned that program into a power.. he then took the job at Central Michigan, which is a MAC school, and they just won the MAC, now he's at Cinncy and they are turning into a very solid program.

Is Feretz completely out of the picture. He seems the most likely candidate although he's getting paid millions to play little over .500 ball and the Hackeyes seemed happy.

i use to travel to detroit on business, and yes thats how mich fells. They almost fell that a coach should pay them to coach at mich. Someone needs to give them the memo that coaches do not go for that crap anymore.

Fish out of water......

I also think most schools have come along way to insuring they keep their coaches happy!
Today quality of life goes along way!!!

Yes and No.

Lofty expectations from Day 1. No chance to breathe and build your own program.
