Of course he will say Riley was his first choice now....laughable.

What BS...frankly BP had a good track record compared to Riley. Realistically BB does as well.

To most LSU fans, Miles was a very underwhelming hire in 2005...but that worked out well for us. Lane Kiffen was considered a home run hire at Tennessee and USC...how did that work for those schools?

Riley may be just the right coach for Nebraska...don't know why anyone discounts the hire.

I'd prefer Bielema over Riley.

well for one Miles was 10 years younger when hired. you'd think a school like NU would look for a guy with the potential to be around a while.

I think it's because he's getting up there in age.

Kiffin was never a home run hire for SC, merely a caretaker while we were in the throes of sanctions. He did a decent job all things considered, but home run? Please.

Insightful post. Riley's already sixty one. Given the average life expectancy for American males, this guy could like just suddenly kick off in a couple of decades.

uh, Miles' own agent during an interview said that UM never contacted Miles. Miles' own agent!!

Seems like he would know. And since I know youre dumb enough to say its BS; Heres your link:

LINK
quote:

Bill Martin, Michigan's athletic director, had received permission Wednesday to talk to Miles after Saturday's Southeastern Conference title game, but he had not called to set up a meeting or schedule a phone call.

quote:

Miles had no idea if Michigan really wanted him. So Bass decided to ask. He said he called Martin's cell phone on Friday and left a message. He just wanted to know where Miles stood. Then, when he didn't hear back, the agent said he called Martin again. "The (LSU) deal was so good that we couldn't just wait," Bass said via phone Tuesday. "I didn't know if we were one of the candidates in the pool at that time. There was just no communication."

Never got an offer. Didn't happen
