Looks like Terrell Buckley interviewed on campus with Mullen today, presumably for the Safeties coach/ recruiting coordinator position: would be a good get for State. Tom Allen is supposed to interview later this week, presumably for the DC position.

State should announce its hires early next week.

Yes, he had a long and distinguished NFL career principally with the Packers. He's also probably the second best CB and punt returner from FSU next to Deion Sanders.

Yes, he's also the current coach at Louisville. I'm reading that he's accepted the job at MSU, but I'd be surprised if they announced it before announcing the DC hire, which looks like it'll be Tom Allen.

MSU hired Terrell Buckley today, which leaves the DC position.

Mullen interviewed Tom Allen today and set to interview Paul Rhoades tomorrow. If State had already offered O, then these interviews would be a waste of time, which is why I'm skeptical of the Coach O rumors.

O said NO and this is the next step in the process for Mullen. Rhodes would be a sound pick as DC.

Offer was never extended. O is a candidate, but down the list.

I think Allen would be a better hire than Rhoads but I'd have a hard time proving that on paper. Rhoads had some good defenses at Aubie but he inherited some great rosters from Muschamp and Chizik so I don't know if he can build it from the ground up. Hard to judge his time at ISU because the program is a cellar dweller.

The names I've heard are Allen, Rhoades, Hopson (from Alcorn), and John Butler (Texans). Of those, I'd like to have Allen, but I don't want Womack to get fired, retire, or leave for a HC and then Freeze hire Allen from us given their relationship.
