Outside of him clearly being DC in name only at UGA when has he ever been in charge of a successful defense?

Not Colorado.

Certainly not Michigan State, look at his stats:
2022: 63rd FEI/99th in adj PPD
2021: 48th FEI
2020: 51st FEI

And that’s having inherited a Dantonio defense that was always top 25ish or better.

Setting that aside I can only imagine the conversations with parents in for recruiting visits explaining what happened on zoom…
