Mark Whipple is still out there

Come on Les, make that call.

He was one of the first guys I thought would get a look. I later read that he is kind of an abrasive guy. If that's true, then I don't think he'd fit in with what Miles wants out of his staff.
He's be a really good fit otherwise, IMO.

I really wish he was still in the running. However I'm starting to have my doubts on whether or not he and Les would work well together.

He was a horrific failure at Miami, didn't develop his QB's and was fired because Randy and his staff performed like shite, and lost the team. Les, don't make the call.

The last name alone makes him sound like a mediocre pansy. I say no way.

It's interesting how fast public opinion changes.
At the end of last year Whipple was viewed as a hot OC who had done a tremendous job molding his young QB into a proficient passer. Many comparisons were made here highlighting how much better Jacory Harris had been developed as compared to Jordan Jefferson.
FYI, the Miami offense was ranked 31st this year in total offense.
You are on the wrong side of this argument IMO.

He makes a lot of really bad/incorrect/uneducated posts I've noticed.

All I can think of is the old Charmin commercials with Mr. Whipple. "Please don't squeeze the Charmin".

Mattz, the name of the game is to win. Secondly, your offense needs to make plays in clutch situations. Whipple's offense did neither. Your logic about offensive stats proves how little you understand about winning and the insignificance of your posts.

Not him. Some guys I know who are big U fans and alums say he is hard to get along with and were really disappointed after initially thinking they liked him as the OC.

So, by that logic you liked Crowton, right?

Miles won't hire a guy like this. That's why he isn't a candidate.

Got to pry him away from Charmin tissue first

No, I'm not a Crowton fan, and advocated his dismissrl for 3 years because of his lack of identity, dicipline, and development of his players. Whipple is the issue, and his record at Miami resembled Crowton and he also won less.

But, I thought you said winning is the name of the game?

In what way? His offense was ranked #31 this year.
You keep making these bottom line statements without anything to support it.

Moneyg, my opinion having gone to 4 LSU games this year and 3 Miami games - FSU, VA, and GTech with close friends and connected boosters - big time Miami lawyers (we watch the games in suites as I do at Tiger Stadium) unanomously were dejected with Whipple's performance. He failed in using his talent and developing QB's - like Crowton. We won more because Crowton did better than Whipple calling and having his players execute them in the clutch. Les is a 100 times better coach than Shannan, our defense was better, and our special teams were also better. Winning has many dimensions, and Whipple did take care of his business

Well, now that's settled.
