Dude is a douche and needs someone like Saban to keep him line.

Calling it now - He will be at odds with either FAU or the NCAA in three years tops and will prob have some issues with another coed again.

Glad he's not LSU's problem.

Hate to break it to you a lot of college football coaches are douches. Saban isn't the nicest guy to people either.

He's a good OC. One of the best, in fact.

I agree he's good, actually great as OC, but he's just too risky.

I don't think it's the end of the world bc he would have been gone pretty quickly anyway but "dodged a bullet" is a strong phrase

He may win championships, but he's the ultimate jerk to anyone who works with him.

It is common knowledge that Kiffin is chasing everything in a skirt around Tuscaloosa...very much a part of the party scene there since his divorce.

He's an accident waiting to happen.
Never was coming to LSU.
Agree with OP.

That douche will be the next coach at Florida. Mac isn't recruiting very well on the defensive side of the ball. 3 to 4 years at FAU and Mac will be gone and Florida will hire douche as Head Coach.

No bullet was dodged. No disrespect intended, but he wasn't coming to LSU. If he didn't get a HC gig, he would just stay at Bama another year and then try again. All the noise about Saban wanting him gone was just speculation. LSU will be much better off with Canada. He's very good -- diverse repertior, multiple/adaptable styles/schemes, good at developing QBs and utilizing talent.

Talking yourself into coping with rejection.
Like the head cheerleader rejecting you for the prom. "She was ugly anyway."

Face it..."He was the best OC in CFB," if you hired him.
And, "Whew, we dodged a bullet," when he decided not to go to LSU.

We see the same rationalizing when a slam-dunk recruit flips from or rejects your school...particularly with LSU this year.

Simply a coping mechanism, and I understand why people do it.

Disagree. Under the right circumstances he would have...for no more than a year. But who really cares. We got our man now.

He's a great OC that probably would have done well at LSU in the likely short time he spent here. That said, man he's a doofus. That presser was awful.

I think he was a douche. After listening to what he said in his press conference, i think his mindset about being a coach has completely changed.

I dont believe he would be a problem at lsu. He would use LSU to show people that he isnt a douche and doesn't need someone babysitting him. Which is another reason he took a job like FAU

He's getting paid millions to coach a kids game, so let Lane make it. I'm glad he's now our OC, but if he can make some good noise at FAU, watch out .

I agree. The Kiffin to LSU talk only made sense if Kiffin failed to find a HC job and LSU offered significantly more money. Neither would be the case. And after every year Kiffin would be out looking for a HC job. With a guy like Canada, he'd probably be at LSU a few years before leaving if successful.

He is not good. Average at best. OJ Howard is a 1st round talent that was rarely used. He runs a Les Miles Offense with better O linemen. That is it.

Good luck Kiffin. Best wishes at FAU.
