Lets all play the Alleva game

Ok here you go. If it was time to replace Miles as HC( if that ever happened ) I am gonna provide you a list of candidates and I would like for you to explain why you would hire him.

1 - Jon Gruden -- He is my choice by the way
2 - Jack Del Rio
3 - Gary Patterson
4 - Steve Spurrier
5 - Nick Saban -- Yes I would take him back. Who Would'nt?

6 - _______________

GAME ON

1. Chris Peterson (BSU) - Has got the most out of the players hes coached (Now if he had LSU's talent)

2. Will Muschamp (UT)- Mack isnt going anywhere for awhile (Defensive Guru) He would run a very tight ship at LSU

3. Dan Mullen (MSU) - Runs a great Offense and also develops players

4. Anyone but Les Miles ... pretty broad

I would take 2 or 3 in a heartbeat.

Muschamp and Mullen are 2 young guys who have been associated with some of the most respected names in college football. They've both also been around big name programs for long enough to know what it takes to be successful.

I think Muschamp and Mullen would be solid choices. I also think Pelini should get a look, as well. He seems to have Nebraska moving in the right direction. He would bring a level of discipline back to the program that we are missing right now.

Muschamp is about to be head coach of UT. Pelini is the head coach of Nebraska. They're not coming to LSU.

Gary Patterson.

His defenses are aggressive and disciplined (very Saban-esque). He is loyal, energetic, and his players love him. He hires solid coordinators and puts out a consistent product on the field.

LSU is a mediocre program and we are lucky to have Les. We would never ever find a superior coach. We must keep Les 4ever.

why hire a coach, just have a GA refer to TD for the game plans. all the football wisdom is here, just ask them. legends in their own minds

And he has done it at a major football program. Has SEC experience and God willing may be ready for a change.

i know this is make believe and all but i have a reality news flash for you; no school can just hire who they want to as availability is a HUGE DETERMINING factor. you list saban as an example; are kidding? spurrier? neither are or will be available. what makes you think gruden and del rio can recruit? we're down to patterson who would probably be a good hire. if, however, he turned us down, we'd be back on the streets, alabama style. what a lot of you guys don't understand is that when lsu comes calling, the real good coaches will get raises; look at notre dame this year? when bama hired mike price and dubose, weren't they like 3rd or 4th down their list? take patterson, for example; sure tcu isn't going to pay him $4mil, but ft worth is one of the few towns worth a shite in texas and if he's happy and making a coupla mil, he will probably stay put. hiring a head coach is all about luck and if you make the wrong hire, it's damn expensive to get out of. not trying to rain on your parade, you did say it was just for fun. i would like to have the boise state coach; that dude knows football. still, can he recruit louisiana? far different place than idaho.

now that's an attitude that, if adopted by our adm., will get us in a big deep pile of do-do. to improve a situation, you need to hire someone BETTER than the present person. if you think anyone would be better, you should not be the person doing the hiring; you should be the one replaced. of the people on your list, dan mullen would be my choice with peterson right behind. will muschamp has never been a head coach AND is almost certainly not available. maybe you think mack brown is going anywhere, but obviously muschamp does or he is content with biding some more time (which is my impression). i thing the $1 mil a yr he's earning is translating fine in austin and he's very happy. reminds me of the joker phillips situation at Ky.

Houston Nutt has beat our 4-5 star athletes two years in a row using his 2-3 stars and a few second rate juco players. Tell me why he is not superior to what we have.

Because Houston Nutt is a lousy recruiter.

why would anyone want Spurrier? he's way past his prime.

eta: my list in no order would be will muschamp, jim harbaugh, paterson, peterson, and jack del rio.
