As a niner fan I would be fine with this. He's always been a good QB developer and play caller.

oh... I can think of one big time example in which he failed tremendously.

although he was the head coach of a team owned by a senile old man.

would be a fantastic hire for the 49ers though.

shake the haters.

His wife is so out of place in Tuscaloosa. I am surprised he went there to begin with. SF looks like a good place for both of them.

I damn sure can. Threw the ball WAY too much.

Maybe. But you also have to give him credit for developing Sims into an All-SEC type player. He may be too pass happy for SEC football, but you also have to give him credit for what he did accomplish.

Yeah he did. Sims threw 36 passes against OSU and was struggling a little bit. Henry and Yeldon had 23 carries and were gashing the OSU defense all night. Those two numbers should have been reversed. It almost seems like Kiffin tries to anticipate a defensive adjustment before it actually happens instead of running what works until the defense stops it.

He threw the ball too much at times, but overall he did a great job converting Sims into one of the 3-4 best QBs in the SEC this year. I remain convinced that had he stayed committed to the run against OSU that Bama likely wins that game. Passing that frequently against an OSU D that was committed to stopping Cooper was the clearest example of him either A) overthinking it, B) being outcoached, or C) both.

Im sure he would much rather live on the West Coast than Gumpville

Hmmm.

San Francisco or Tuscaloosa? Such a hard choice!

He may also enjoy the NFL more. Some do, some don't.

Kiffin and Matt Flynn must have gotten their rabbit's foot from the same rabbit.

Interesting update:

The #49ers requested permission to speak with #Colts special assistant Rob Chudzinski for OC, source said, like the #Rams did earlier

Niner boards are saying Baalke (49ers GM) is a little hesitant because of Kiffins baggage, looking like its 50-50. Their insiders are saying he would take the job if offered.

Are their insiders saying if/when he even interviewed for the job?

I'm just not buying the interest in him at the NFL level as legit. I think he has one more year as OC at Bama and then he takes a college HC job at some place along the lines of a Houston type job (i know that job was just filled by OSU's OC, just using it as a benchmark example)

I kiiiiinda hope he does take it. I watched the Pats play the other night. Swarming, punishing D, No open receivers, BALL CONTROL offense that is run heavy, and killing the LB's. Reminds me of Bama in Sabans early days. It was so fun to watch the other team stand on the sideline and not run 100 plays because we are in the HUNH and score 52 by the half or winn 49-42 or 55-44. I want us back to controlling TOP and playing keep away. Give AU 65 snaps and not 90. Getting 27 pts but holding the other team to 10 and holding the ball for 40 minutes and making their arse quit.

The look on Lucks face is what I used to see on visiting QB's in BDS circa 2008-2011.
This west coast stuff is fun to watch but its not gonna win a championship. How you play offense DIRECTLY correlates to how effective your defense is.
I'd like to see a James Campen from GB or Andy Ludwig come in.
