Why do people think that money is the only driver here? People leave their jobs every day for equivalent (or close) money because of many other factors besides money. If Jimbo is leaving, it's not because of the money.

Agreed. Once you're making 5-6 million per year, plus additional benefits, a few hundred grand or a million doesn't necessarily make a huge difference.

A million dollars is 20% of 5M. A 20% raise is a noticeable raise for anyone. We are talking about a solid 80k a month difference.
Eta but I agree that this isn't about money if he makes the change because I'm sure FSU would counter.

The hell with maybe. That is flat out one of the pros of coming to LSU. Unless Matt Moscona has bad information, he was saying on the radio yesterday that Jimbo's assistants would basically have a 100% raise in salary at LSU. FSU just approved a budget increase for assistant coaches starting next year, and it's still one million less than LSU's budget for assistants. That's substantial.
Better pay = better assistants. Jimbo's no dummy. He realizes that a better staff will make the coach look better too. Not that his staff is bad now.
