Skip Bertman knows a thing or two about making the right hires at LSU, so I think I will go with this guy

Sorry folks, it's Fisher>>>>>>then Herman. Fisher has coached here, knows the SEC very well and has a NC. Herman is none of those things and you guys are fooling yourself if you don't think Fisher is Alleva's #1 guy. All in for Jimbeaux!!

I'm flipping more than a cook at BK on who I want more.

Hears that yesterday and agree with him.

Alleva should have skip give him a ring and put in the good word.

Also agree with what a few have said about Herman. I believe Skip may have too. Yes Herman did great but has only been a head coach for 2 seasons.

I hear about how great he did under Meyer and having 3 qbs win the title that year. Do we forget how good Meyer was offensively and with qbs?

Fisher has an astounding record and a title. Herman has a 17-1 record at Houston.

I actually would rather Fisher over Herman, but I think Herman could very well be the real deal.

Talk to OSU people about Tom Herman and get back to me. They RAVE about him. That was his offense. Part of Meyer coming back from his "illness" was taking more of a CEO type role instead of a direct OC role

Also Dan Mullen has made a nice career being a former Meyer OC, and he probably had less actual input and control on the offense at Florida than Herman did at OSU

I'm not saying Herman won't be great here, if UH gets punked by the Big 12 and Fisher says no....throw the bank at him!

It happened last year and it has no relevance to the topic

Jimbo is the safer pick. He's performed at the highest level. He knows the state and has recruited the south arguably as well as Miles. It's less likely he would bail on LSU after 3-4 years of success. You don't leave FSU to come to LSU, to then immediately start looking for your next job. If that were the case, there is no need to come to LSU in the first place. FSU is not a second-tier program. The downside is maybe there is a known ceiling on Jimbo.

Herman is the risk/reward guy. He doesn't have a lengthy track record, but what we have seen thus far may be signs pointing to him being THE next big time college football coach. Possibly an all-timer. The risk is that if he succeeds at LSU, he may be much more likely than Jimbo to move to the next opportunity.

With Jimbo you feel like you know what you are going to get. LSU is going to be good and in the conversation for the national title every year, but maybe only play for it one more time in the next 10 years or so. He's been good, but he hasn't dominated college football.

With Herman there are no guarantees, but you feel like if he is everything many think he is, then LSU could become THE dominant force in college football year after year.

For most fans I think Jimbo represents a slightly better Miles. Herman represents the potential next Saban in terms of success

Someone mentioned Mullen in the AU board, and I said hell no. But after thinking about it, and looking at his record, he has done a fantastic job at one of the worst schools in America. He always hires great DCs, too.

We saw it last year, didn't we? Herman beat Fisher soundly 38-24 in the Peach Bowl last year. Fisher is overrated and he folds easily in big games and he is a one-time wonder natty coach. Fisher may not win a ship again. Herman has way much more upside potential just like a young Meyer. You can't go wrong with Herman.

If LSU is going to throw the bank at a coach, Fisher is the safer investment. So in that sense he would be worth every penny. Herman is riskier but perhaps a bigger return.

I mean with what he has done so far and the fact that he is only 41 years old

He is going to win a title somewhere

Whether he uses LSU as a stepping stone to Ohio State though is the only risk I see
