5 million a year which would have been a hell of a lot more if he would have ended up here. For the record I think once the Texas job came up there was zero chance he would have walked away from Texas without inking the deal. Alleva knew this.

It has pretty much been said by just about everyone, if it's not Fisher or Herman than it should be Coach O. Can we give the man a chance before we want to fire him already. Personally I think he will feed off the negativity.

Whatever they are paying O, he isn't worth that.

with a 5+ year contract. Texas could be in the same situation in a few years that they are in today with Strong, having to pay another huge buyout. It's 50/50 on him working out as a really successful head coach there. It's not like everyone thought Charlie Strong wouldn't be successful at UT.

I will never understand why people care how much LSU pays their coaches. It's not coming out of your pocket. You get a kickback or something?

Texas has a big systemic mess that Tom just walked into. It will takes years to get rid of the cancer there. If Tom can do it, more power to Him.

This. Strong was as much as sure thing based on what he did at Louisville at that time. Herman hasn't really proved anything and Houston was a disappointment this year.

Tell me what has Herman done to warrant getting 5-6 million a year? I'm not saying that the market is not that high but I just don't think he was worth that much.

You mean Allva assumed this

There's ZERO harm in continuing discussions with Herman through the weekend, Orgeron isn't going anywhere.

But to give up immediately after Herman expressed interest in another school is inexcusable and that's what most of the complaints are about with Alleva.
