To "pursue other opportunities in college football."

LINK

Could be a great OC for Miles and fits the kind of coach Miles likes to hire. Not sure which HC opening would pursue him.

Tedford will probably be a head coach, but if Miles could somehow get him to LSU, it'd be a slam-dunk.

Tedford was a head coach, so he'd understand game management. Tedford is a noted QB developer. Tedford runs the kind of west-coast passing offense that would work well with Miles' desire to run the ball.

Miles was thisfreakingclosenokidding to getting fired.

Sometimes, after traumatic periods of stress, people change.

Which means we won't get Tedford. Makes too much damned sense!

OC? Wasn't BC's offense barely worse than Mizzou's this year?

I don't follow Canadian football closely enough to know.

This qb needs a West Coast type coach. 3 step drops, getting the ball out quick with timing passes, and a power run game to compliment. Would be an awesome hire but in reality this is just a pipe dream.

Didn't he leave the Bucs because of health problems?

It doesn't matter with Miles, he could embrace the offense, but would still recruit kids who can't run it. JJ/JLee situation. You need a guy with a quick release who won't hurt your team. Not a guy who is better on the run and throws long accurately, short; not so much.

Probably a pipe dream and he's been pretty bad since he got sick, but the thought of it gave me an LSU football boner

I think Tedford still wants to be a head coach, but the guy's a stressmonger. He appears to have regained the weight he lost during his health break. While I don't see Tedford as a personality match with Miles, the idea is pretty intriguing. As LSU OC I think Tedford would turn LSU into a Stanford-like team (goofy as that sounds) with better players. But his system requires a smart QB, so QB recruiting would still be critical. If you want a real home run, get Tedford and also bring on Ron Gould, the UC Davis HC who was rumored to be fired yesterday. As Cal RB coach, Gould developed JJ Arrington, Marshawn Lynch, Justin Forsett, Jahvid Best, Shane Vereen, and CJ Anderson.

From an x's and o's perspective, you're probably right, but LSU's best offensive recruiter is RB coach Frank Wilson.

If UVA doesnt end up with either Richt or Tedford as head coach I'm going to blow a gasket.
