Sources: Former UNC DC Jay Bateman is headed to Florida as the inside linebackers coach. He’s the former DC at Army and Ball State.

did the weird defense he was running at army not translate in the ACC? I remember being intrigued by what he was doing, but it seemed specific to academy ball and the type of players they can get and also that they control clock every game. Im not even sure he had same scheme at UNC.

Think Mac changed some things up

I remember having him on my wishlist back at Army when we thought TG was getting fired

Think they still need an assistant associate outside linebackers coach (for 3rd downs with short yardage), Co-trick play coordinator (offense), and an associate water person (2nd half timeouts).

I'm not shitting on the quality of the hires but the titles being thrown at these guys is pretty funny.

Staff titles per UF site

So are ya'll finished with traveling over to Lafayette to take coaches and players from our measly Sunbelt program?

Any idea who you're getting for dline coach? Seems like that's the only open spot left to fill at this point.

Also, why do you guys have two o line coaches?

Ah! Guess that's their complete staff, then. He just isn't listed on UF website yet I guess.

Still find it odd two people are labeled as the oline coach. Figured one would be oline and one rgc or something like that.

It was said Napier doesn’t want one guy watching 5 players, kinda like how most teams have gone to Corners coaches n Safeties coaches instead of a single DB Coach

I’m down for whatever works, since ULL has done so well on their OL lately I’m willing to see it play out.

That's interesting. I will be curious to see how that plays out.

ETA: I feel the same way with regards to whatever works. I just hadn't seen the o line set up that way before.

Hasn’t their offensive line coach been Bedenbaugh? Pretty sure he’s the guy who was and who everyone held in such high regard.

SOURCE: Ty Darlington, a former star OL at OU who has been on staff with the Sooners since 2017, is leaving Norman to become a QC at Florida, near where he grew up. Darlington was extremely well-regarded by the OU staff as a rising star in the business and has helped coach QBs.

Source: @TyDarlingtonOU is joining Billy Napier’s staff at Florida as a quality control coach on offense. Darlington has been OU’s assistant QB coach for the last 5 seasons and served as OU’s QBs coach for the Alamo Bowl. #Gators getting a good one.

Helped coach a few very good QBs, I’ll take it
