How do y'all think he'd do at LSU? Seems like a winner to me. Young, energetic and offensive minded. If he can win at Vandy, he could do great things at LSU

I thought he would do well at Penn State considering what he did at Vandy. He might be a flash in the pan.

He single handedly revived and carried the Vandy program. I don't know if he would want to get back in the SEC though

LSU is no better of a job than Penn State. No reason to leave.

His rape covering skills leave a lot to be desired.

Franklin's problem is that he only wins the games he should but loses all the games he should. His record at Vandy is inflated because a lot of historically good SEC teams had some terrible years (2013 Georgia, 2012 Auburn, 2013 Florida). As Penn State gets more talent, he'll win more games such as Northwestern, but he'll never beat Michigan, OSU, or MSU consistently.

Sorry, but what school beats Michigan or OSU consistently? JoePa certainly didn't, at least not in a sustained way.

Penn State will be in the 8+ win range consistently with Franklin, which isn't bad considering the huge black eye the program suffered.

James Franklin is as good as Penn State will be able to do for quite some time. You harbored a serial child molester for the better part of 20 years and that's the stigma that'll be attached to your school for years to come. What big name, reputable coach would want anything to do with that job?

what? Both are blue bloods with similar history. Both play in good leagues with great recruiting territory. Facilities at PSU are top notch and their campus is fantastic.

When I said beat them consistently, I meant he will be lucky to beat them once every 10 years. We have very loose standards of consistency nowadays

It'll just take time- everyone understands that. It's just that in year 2 we're starting to see what a Franklin program actually looks like and it doesn't look very good.

You've nailed James Franklin IMO... he's a salesman first... Mediocre coach.

Excluding this year (because we don't know yet), Franklin has only beaten 5 teams with a winning record

No, that's ridiculous. PSU is a better program than that, and Franklin is a better coach than that.

Michigan and Ohio State are elite programs with elite coaching. Neither is an easy win for any team in the country.

Penn State is a really strong program with a good coach. They'll have some spike years where things come together, IMO.

I never saw any flaws with Franklin when he was at Vandy, and I don't see any flaws with his coaching at Penn State. I think he'll be successful.

NOPE. Just kicked a FG from the 1 yard line down 8 in the 4th quarter. Don't care if they end up winning, it's pussified.
