He would have been given the title by now and LM would not be wasting time meeting potential candidates.

I'll just leave a snippet from a news story back in 2008 here:
quote:

When Les Miles chose to name co-defensive coordinators, eye-brows were raised. Miles had a significant period of time to replace Bo Pelini as defensive coordinator when Pelini left to become the head coach at Nebraska. After long contemplation, he chose to name Bradley Dale Peveto and Doug Mallory as co-defensive coordinators. One is in the press box, the other is on the sideline.

Which led to questions like this:
quote:

How does a superstar such as Percy Harvin end up with a nickel back on him on the third play from scrimmage in man coverage? Maybe Curtis Taylor could have helped over the top but Danny McCray, whom no one will confuse with being a cover corner, was left helpless in dealing with one of the most dynamic, quickest players in college football.

And results like this:
quote:

The Tigers (7-5) struggled defensively this season and head into the bowl game ranked 11th in the SEC in scoring defense and ninth in total defense.

Chavis didn't recruit worth a damn and we were fine from a talent perspective. We need an Xs and Os guy. We've got the recruiters...especially if we can get Orgeron on board.

So why was Pendergast out? Also, if we get a DC and Orgeron, who do we let go?
