Usually an AD hires a HC, especially for one of the $ positions like in football. However, Mizzou is spinning out of control with their hate rhetoric/protests/social injustice, etc...., their Pres resigned, then their Chancellor resigned, then their football HC resigned. So is their AD the next to resign? If so, how will that impact their HC search? Is there a competent Asst AD who could be trusted to make the higher? Would they want to hire a new AD fist and then have him/her look for a HC?

I dont think you understand what this means.

He announced he retiring at the end of the season due to cancer. Thats not the same as "resigning"

They will hire a black president, who will hire the black AD, who will hire the black football coach. And people will still be unhappy.

1. the AD is not going anywhere. 2. it is controlled now. 3. President and Chancellor were unrelated. President was a stupid thing, Chancellor getting fired was well deserved, and not due to the protests.

I think both were on their way out, this protest just gave the BOC the green light.
