Yeah, i think it was in the contact extension he signed two days ago for 7 years. Keep up buddy or the short bus will pass you up as well.

Contrary to popular belief, "agreeing in principle" is not the same as "signed".

Are you guys that clueless? AU has not offered an extension to Tubbs. They have until Sat to do so and probably will. Then Tubbs has until Dec 31 to work it out and sign. Tubbs said these things take time and this one would likely take about 30 days. The extension he signed in '04 took 2-3 weeks (it is only 10's of millions of dollars when you add it all up and unlikely to fit on a cocktail napkin). If nothing happens Tubbs is still the AU coach and still has a $6mil buyout. I know it makes SO much sense for Tubbs to go to Arky it is almost a no brainer right?
These rumors are almost idiotic. Tubbs was in negotiations with A&M and close to signing I know - even through the two sides never approached or said a word to each other. Cmon people how can you be so dumb, naive, and unaware of anything in based in reality or probability?

Also in case you fellas just didn't know, this duck hunting trip is an annual one that Tubbs takes EVERY year after the season ends. Not just when Arky fires a coach and idiots speculate.

I assume you were kidding about Jerry Jones.

quote:

Tuberville is leaving Thursday to take his two children on an annual trip to duck hunt in Arkansas. The source told The Daily on Wednesday that the trip is a yearly event and has nothing to do with speculation that the Auburn coach may replace Houston Nutt at Arkansas.

I can only assume that only a complete moron would think that this annual trip that Tubbs has taken for NINE straight years is about the Arky position that just opened (planned as a perfect excuse to be there every year for nine years now)?

Idiots

I think he is going to Arkansas to be the head football coach.

Don't want him too, but I think he is.
