Previously the interim coach.

Very Illinois like move, I don't think they really care about sports there anymore.

Was previously the HC of Widener and Western Michigan where he went 90-70-1

Bill Cubit, was "not involved" in the player mistreatment I guess.

$1.2 million per year, fair to say Illinois is more interested in being Indiana than Michigan in the Big 10.

Well they should have tried way harder for Shaka Smart, but settled for Groce.

@JWernerScout: #illini AD Paul Kowalczyk on 2-year deal: "It's not ideal but for now, I don't think it'll put a dagger in the heart of the program."

Jesus Christ.

So basically "no one is dead, so that's good."

My fandom is up for grabs. Convince me on a new program.

I'll sell you on two.

LSU: Look at how much fun these people are having. A metldown after every game, win or lose. EVERYONE knows SOMEONE who knows SOMETHING about EVERYTHING.

Rutgers: You go into every game expecting to lose, so you'll only be pleasantly surprised when team wins. (Roughly 3-5 times a year)

Do I have this straight?

Illinois AD fires the head coach a week or two before season starts.

Illinois AD is then fired three weeks ago.

Interim AD hires the interim coach who just lost 6 of his last 7 games.

Interim AD (who was fired from Colorado St.) &
Cubit (who was fired from Western Michigan) was a finalist that didn't get the head job at Western Illinois two years ago, are the two guys incharge.
