I wish some of our more emotional fans would chill out with Orgeron for HC

I understand a lot of people are emotional after everything that has gone on with Miles. But LSU has an incredible opportunity to actually let a coach audition for a job. That doesn't happen at every school. In the meantime, LSU can conduct interviews and reach out to proven head coaches and up and coming head coaches.

I like Orgeron just as much as the next guy. I think his energy and recruiting abilities are off the charts. I also think he loves LSU and I'm happy we changed.

But chill out. Let the season finish out before you jump onto the Orgeron as head coach bus. The last thing we need is a large contingent of our fan base screaming for the hiring of Orgeron and let our administration think that our fans are clamoring for him to take the position. Remember what happened the last time everyone got emotional with Miles during the TAMU debacle???

Anyways, I want the best fit and coach for the job. If he does well and earns it, then so be it. But if you can get a big time name to come to LSU, we shouldn't pass on it.

I think the best case scenario is that coach O is wildly successful and we win multiple NCs. I think the most likely scenario is Jimbo is announced as HC sometime in December.

Herman should be LSU's top choice. Orgeron shouldn't even be given a thought unless Herman turns LSU down. If he turns us down or goes elsewhere, then you can address Coach O.

I also happen to think every fan base in the SEC, probably the country, will claim Orgeron is the right man for LSU because they want him hired at LSU. That's not a good thing.

They said the same thing last year that LSU was being foolish to fire Miles. They wanted him to stay.

LSU needs to do the best thing for LSU. Don't listen to the media or other fan bases. Go out and hire the best we can get.

Same could be said about Herman..theyre going to be able to fill an entire unit at Jackson if Herman says no.

I honestly believe it's Ed O's job to lose, they weren't blowing smoke saying they would give him a fair shot. It will be a uphill battle for him but if he runs the table it will be asinine to not give him the job.

If O goes 7-1 and that one loss is a very competitive game, you don't think he should be given consideration?

Herman looks like he will be great, but he is not a lock for success. Jimbo is a lock and you don't write a 10m dollar check to get rid of a NC winning coach for a possibility.

I disagree. I think he will be considered and his resume as a whole will be reviewed, but I don't think it's his to lose.

He's going to have to earn it and it's going to be a very, very tough interview.

I just don't want our fans forcing an administrative decision. Let Alleva do this.

Don't allow other administrators to stick there nose in or politicians to push for Orgeron just because they think that's what the people want. I will vomit if I see a bobby jindal type tweeting out that Orgeron deserves this job. That kind of nonsense can stay the hell away from this decision.

I disagree. If you wouldn't hire him now, don't hire him at all. The unemployment lines are littered with interim coaches that went on a run with someone else's team.

I just hope our AD handles this in such a way to keep Orgeron on staff if they go a different direction. That will be tough if Orgeron thinks every LSU fan loves him and wants him as their HC.

Without any insider knowledge at all, I feel confident that O didn't come here with any aspirations of being the HC at some point. He loves the school and loves the position he's coaching. I don't see it being a problem for him stepping back to his old role when we bring in whoever.

I could be wrong. Just what I feel.

I can just see that nerd King walking around on gameday and feeling enthusiasm for Orgeron and going, "Joe, the people love him! This is a good option to make a move on the cheap!"

It would have to be handled delicately if there were cheering fans everyone saying how much they loved him and wanted him at LSU.

Let the guy earn it. If he wins out, he'll be pushed to the top of the list.

and then capitalizing on the emotions of fans for votes.

Any time a politician sticks his nose where it doesn't belong, there is an ulterior motive behind the move.

I'm not advocating Ed to be the head coach but if he runs the table that means he won the west(auburn will not win out)and most likely will will win the SEC. Winning the SEC with this offense would be nothing short of a miracle. How do you not give him the job?

Because it's not his team. He had very little to do with building it. He's being given a corvette with a flat tire. A team with enough talent can win despite coaching if they are allowed to. Look at Miami and Coker, the players wanted him because he would leave them alone.

O has history to look at. Thats about 20 times more important than winning half of a season with someone elses team.
