How would it be different then when Clemson hired Dabo?

This argument along with "he only got it cause he's Cajun" is ridiculous and overblown.

How about play the season out, see what happens and go from there.

10 years ago. I know you close your eyes and ears and kick your legs like a child when that's brought up, but if you work a job for 10 years and don't improve with experience and never change, you don't belong in the profession at all.

But he hasn't had that job the last 10 years, being a head coach and a DL coach aren't the same thing.

If he's such a great Head coach where are the other schools beating down the door to hire him?

They don't want to answer that question, they don't want to answer any questions really just keep saying he has learned from his past mistakes because he said so in a press conference

Shouldn't he have used that time at a lesser program to prove he's learned and changed? Coaching 7 or 8 games with someone else's program doesn't prove that you can run a successful program for several years. Sorry, LSU is not a training ground for failed head coaches.

We could offer the job to ten prove head coaches and get turned down by all and Ed O would still be there to say "yes"

Because there is no other HC job available to him!!!

No point to rush to our last choice.

Bingo.

The coaching market determines value. And value usually means potential success.

No one else values the potential success of Coach O. No one has offered him a HC, making even a minimal coaching salary.

It all means something. It really does.

that's literally the prevailing thought for hiring him. "he's one of us, he understands louisiana"

don't downplay it.

It might not be true for Prom, but bit definitely holds true in 80% of O bandwagoners

I must've missed the part when Dubose and Dabo failed historically bad in the same conference during their only previous head coaching stint?
