If he makes changes this year it will buy him a little time. If he sticks with his current defensive staff and there aren't improvements he will be fired

If he beats LSU next season, he stays regardless of record. Otherwise he needs 8 wins.

If he doesn't win more than 7 regular season games next year, I'm sure he'll be let go. Don't believe the narrative you read on here about Arkansas fans being happy with 7 wins. That's just Rant speak. The fanbase is pissed right now.

Are there going to be any staff changes? I'm surprised Smith still has a job

I'm sure there will be. Bielema said he was going to take a few days to evaluate before making any decisions. I imagine some coaches will "leave for another job" over the next few weeks. He isn't a big public firing guy but rather they just move on.

If I had a say, I would like to see us replace our DC, DL coach and possibly LB coach.

Isn't Paul Rhoads on staff? Bert should move him to DC, not sure if that's an option or not Hog fans?

My boss is a big time Arkansas guy and he says the same thing, tells me Houston Nutts teams were better. All I know is this, Arkansas is a better program than what has been being put on the field the past few years.

That's the hope. He did a good job with our CB's this year. I'd love to see what he could do with the entire scheme.

Rhoads was on staff at Pitt under Harris, when Long fired Harris, he suggested that Wannstedt keep him as DC, which he did.

He's a hell of a defensive coach

He was the Pitt DC when they beat us 13-9 in 2007 that prevented us from going to the NC game. That was the best defensive game plan I have ever seen.

I hope it works out for you. I think Bret is a good coach and I like your QB

I'm well aware, he's responsible for LSU getting to the MNC and winning in 2007
