I think the Nutt situation might be for them what firing Cutcliffe was for Ole Mrs. The grass is always greener on the other side...

is charlie strong completely out of the running? what is wrong with him? not a major name, but how many major names are coming now? hire this guy, he is an arkansan, minority, great recruiter, and a great defensive coordinator.

i agree, at this point I think Strong would be a good hire. Maybe Paul Johnson at this point as well, as I don't see any other HC's that would want to come there except him.

have you watched the Arkansas offense the last few years? Don't think it's possibly to get any more simplistic.

If they were going to hire Paul Johnson they should have hired him 3 years ago when DMac was a freshman. If DMac leaves and FJ leaves they will be in the middle of a massive rebuilding year. How many coaches do you think want to put up with that when Nutt went 18-7 over his last two seasons, won an SEC West title and was more or less run out of town on a rail?

I had a bad feeling our coaching search might have resmebled this.

But he was "run out of town" because HE ran our players/coach out of town, not because he was a bad coach.

He was run out of time b/c of off the field issues. Ethical issues. I do not think anyone wants to be in a position of having to defend "The Coach Who Was Fired".

It is a little frustrating. I do not have inside information, but it looks like there are a lot of people doing a lot of things, often with different goals.

I feel for the new AD, Long. It appears he is putting up with a lot of interference.

The only difference is there is no big name coach left at any price for them out there. I truly don't see a coach like Paul Johnson going to a school who won't support its' coach for just about maximizing it's teams potential.

That was not the whole story w/ "the Coach who was Fired".

Is Frank Broyles still meddling in Arky's affairs?

Maybe Lou Holtz will go back to Arky and we won't have to listen to except once a year when we play Arky....

Broyles will be meddling until he's 6 ft. under.

You have a chancellor who wants the spotlight, a new AD that couldn't hire coaches at the rest of his jobs, and a fan base that is damn ignorant and slams every possible hire....

short of Jimmy Johnson.
