Houston's last 3 outta 4 coaching hires have been very impressive. I could even see all 3 coaching in the SEC next year.

art briles - Auburn maybe
kevin sumlin - aTm
tony Levine - fired
tom herman - LSU

So if/when herman does leave who would be the next coach to continue this trend?

Imo Their current DC todd Orlando has got to be the first person they offer. The guy has fielded a very impressive defense two years in a row. He even lost his entire starting secondary last year and seems to not skip a beat.

Who are some other coordinators out there ready to take that next step?

The question is why haven't we gone after their AD?

Their AD is new. The last AD they had left to go to Mizzou.

UH fan here. I have mixed feelings about this whole Herman to LSU thing since basically my entire family are LSU fans. UH will pull out all the stops to keep Herman. If they get into the Big12 Herman will get a new contract plus a $5mil bonus. The university will also approve a stadium expansion depending on the fan support this season. It would be nice if they could hold onto Orlando and Major Applewhite as well but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Can Houston fill the stadium if they expand? UH still kinda feels like a commuter school.

Briles Houston after Herman leaves. Briles WILL NOT get an SEC head coaching job.

I think they probably could. It was almost full for the Lamar game until most people left because of a 3 1/2 hr rain delay. A better conference means they'll be playing against better teams which will hopefully draw bigger crowds.

This is my favorite post from the houston board. They are trying to spin the Herman to LSU rumors as the Big 12 has to take UH now because they can't afford it if Herman goes to LSU.

quote:

6) if UH is in the Big 12, LSU is almost a lateral move and CTH stays.
