looks like it's a tight race so far

HAHA at all the NO people.
I'd take him back in a heartbeat.

He is obvioiusly a better coach & motivator than LM. But he has shown the world that he can be a huge a-hole. But I'm an a-hole myself, so I'd say....YES

You know...for all this talk about wanting to hire a coach who will be here for the long haul and how we want a coach who views LSU as his dream job, Saban has proven LSU is not the case on both accounts...

I just don't think he's what we need now.
And his staff would stink...y'all would want Major Applewhite as OC or somebody like that? Not me.
I just don't see it happening anyway.

NO! And its not a trust thing either. Other than '03, we had 3 or more loses every year. Why would we want to take a step backward?

I was “Hell No” for a long time. But, if Miles goes there are not a whole lot of coaches out there that are better. I don't think Tubs is a possibility. The OBC would be here three or four years most and then we have to go through this again. Rich Rodrigues at WVU is an alumnus and unlikely to leave. Del Rio wouldn't be available until after the Jaguars lose in the playoffs. I really like Muschamp and I know he’s gonna be a great coach but the board would never take a chance on a guy with no experience, not with so much talent coming back in 2009.
He's a proven good coach with a track record of success in Baton Rouge. So by default, yes Nick Saban would be welcome back. But, only with a HUGE [$10 Million] buyout and a big victory or two next year over Georgia, Florida, Auburn and/ or Bama.
And it would be hilarious to see the Bama reaction.

yes.
i was a hell no also but do you want another nobody in here? the media attention we would get would be huge. negative maybe but you know what the say about negative press. saban would come back , hat in hand, a huge frickin' bon fire in his gut and ready to kill. everybody in the high school ranks would forgive him (except curtis and clean big deal). maybe he has changed a little and would be able to turn over the keys of the offense to crowton. now that my friends is scary.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do worry what his staff would look like. But maybe he would be a bit humbled [ ]

Not No, but Heyull NO.
If LSU gets Saban back here they better check the man for coaching STDs before getting the party started. LSU welcoming Saban back, regardless of how everyone wants to win so badly, would be a very embarassing situation for us in the eyes of the rest of the nation, as well as recruits who would never trust him, not after all that moving around, and Saban's name would be mud. Plain and simple.... MUD. He would have absolutely zero credibility anymore and you wouldn't be able to trust a damn thing that came out of his mouth. The recruits would know it, and we would know it. You can't roll time back people. What was done has already been done, and there is just too much water under the bridge.

This is not targeted at anyone in particular, but how could anyone want that trainwreck that is happeneing at ALabama to move its way over here? Seriously? The guy hasn't changed one bit since he left. He anounced his move to Miami on Christmas Eve, anounced his move to Alabama the day of the Sugar Bowl, and took credit for a Les Miles coaching victory in that same bowl.
That guy has a rap sheet a mile long. I just don't get it and I don't think I will. There are other coaches out there guys. There really are. Some have won multiple championships and don't come with all of the headaches.

Never going to happen but Ii would take him back just so I can give BAMA the finger. I hate BAMA more than Saban, but i love to hear them whine.

Absolutely. He left before. So what. He's a talented coach and was about to do some amazing things here.

Who's to say Crowton wont stay on?
Who do you think would have been a better hire for Saban other than Applewhite?
