my guess is boosters were behind the scenes getting the layout of the land from Jimbo and there may have been an agreement in place providing it all stayed quiet. then the chit hit the fan and now Jimbo is saying screw yall. Didnt the same thing happen with the NS to UT crap from last year

Well - Nick ultimately didn't want to be seen as the guy forcing Mack out - so that was then - they made the best run they could, money-wise. He and Sexton kiboshed it at the end with the demand they fire the AD and Saban have a say so in his replacement.
Which is why it makes the current situation in Texas so interesting - honestly, I think the window has closed on it because of the passage of time - but Nicky could revisit it one more time - he's definitely talking to NFL teams again, which is something he hasn't done much of since getting to Bama. Saban's actually older than Belichick, so he will have to believe he has 5 or 6 years left to make any such move or he's staying and retiring from Bama. Nick doesn't care about rumors or talk, overall - I mean, that's how Sexton earns his money.

I hope it's not true as I've become resigned to the change/transition while hopefully keeping Orgeron and possibly Wilson on to maintain recruiting stability.

If this is true LSU is fricked for several years to come. No highly rated recruit is coming to LSU not knowing who his coach is going to be in the future. This is the worst thing possible that could happen.

Miles coming back would be bad unless he faaaaks around and wins the west next year. Just sayin.. I for one love miles but do not think it would be the best move if he were to stay.
