I'm surprised we haven't heard more about Hugh Freeze as a candidate. Assuming Jimbo is a no, he'd probably be my #2 after Dantonio at Mich St. He recruits well and has beaten Saban. LSU could do worse.

I bet he would like to get out of Oxford before the NCAA hammer comes down.

Pretty sure he has no desire to leave Ole Miss, they already want to build him a statue.

GD think god you aren't making the decisions. Let alone the fact he lost FOUR games last year, and should already have FOUR losses this year if not for a fluke. OM was suppose to be competing for the NC with all those first round draft picks this year, remember? Yet they will likely end up with four losses again......

They beat bama on a fluke. Who have they beaten that is good? Seriously?

Well, you have a point. LSU sucks. So that's no help. We lost one game in the SEC West on a fluke, blind lateral on 4th and 25.

But carry on with your melt, my coonie brother.

Are y'all saying the only way he leaves Oxford is in a pine box?!

Please God No. I will be extremely disappointed if we fire Miles for Freeze. That would be the biggest melt ever.

So let's think about this: most think Saban is the best coach and Bama has the best players. The coaches that are in Saban's tier aren't coming here. So if you're not interested in the one coach that has proven he can beat him, what point is there in getting rid of Miles? You probably have a re-energized fan base but still lose a few every year.

You want to fire Les Miles 1.0 for Les Miles 2.0? No thanks. Go back and watch his in-game decision making in the Memphis and Arkansas games, and at the end of the Bama game. He made 4th down decisions that only Les Miles could love. Hell, I've never even seen Miles call for a review on a clearly favorable spot before going on 4th down and LOSE YARDAGE. Sounds just like something he would do, though.

Freeze's stubborn insistence on calling plays early in the season coast them any playoff shot, no matter what happens now. The Memphis loss is an anchor thanks to their closing swoon. He lost that game all by himself.

Also, remember that at one point, Miles won 2 in a row vs Saban and was 3-2 head to head with him. That can all change very quickly, especially if he came here and had to face Saban's teams late in the season. That is when Nick is at his most deadly.

His 2 wins vs Miles aside, let them have him. Eventually, his act will wear thin just like Les'.

They should have lost on the game ending FG, but got lucky it was blocked. Bone headed call to go for it on your own side of the field on 4th down in that situation.
