What did that guy do when he left La Tech and went on to Tennessee.

No way comparing him to Herman but before we go all in on Herman, I would definitely want to find out if Aranda would be staying on board.

Do you even have a clue as to Dooley's record at La Tech? How was Dooley as a coordinator in college?

Do you have a clue as to Herman's record at Houston? How was Herman as a coordinator in college?

Dooley was never even a coordinator. Meanwhile Herman did one of the best coaching jobs I've ever seen with the 2014 Ohio state offense.

Dooleys last name is another reason he got the tenn job. Herman has earned everything he's ever gotten .

The only reason Dooley got that job is because Kiffin left in the middle of the night and they had to scramble to hire someone. The only people who didn't laugh at the hire were UT fans that were living on hope and prayer.

Didn't know or care of record. I just remember all of the talk of him being the "next big name" possibly. My bad for not following him enough.

Dooley had a losing record at La Tech.

I'm not 100% sold on Herman as some people are. But comparing him to Dooley is absurd.

A better comparison to Herman is Brian Kelly, who had a similar record vs similar competition at Cincinatti. Granted that Kelly did not beat opponents like FSU and OU at Cincy.

His mentor Urban Meyer is also a pretty good comparison. Meyer had only 2 years at Utah before going to UF. There actually are some ways where Herman has a better resume now than Meyer did before UF. Meyer never had wins over teams like FSU and OU at Utah. Herman also has OC experience (unlike Meyer) and has served under a more distinguished head coach than Bob Davie (unlike Meyer.)

Horrible coach and horrible comparison.

Except that you are. And Dooley does not compare favorably to Herman. Herman shits on Dooley. The only thing that had people talking about Derek Dooley were his last name, and that he was on Saban'S staff.

Maybe you should do your research before starting a thread comparing Dooley to Herman
