The article in the Advocate pretty much sums It up, but to go in a little depth:

West Virginia has two loses and both of them came when their starting QB Pat White was hurt and out of the game. They came against South Florida & Pitt.

Oregon was all the hype at one time until Dennis Dixon got hurt and they had to go to their second string QB, then the loses came.

USC was all world in the reporters eyes until Booty went down and the second string QB had to come in and they lost to Oregon.

Oklahoma lost Sam Bradford in the Texas Tech game with a concussion and lost with their second string QB.

Yet you have LSU - without Matt Flynn starting RP who has not seen the field since week 4. During the game you loose Doucet . You have a whole second string D line with Dorsey on the sideline and RJ Francois is making his first game play of the year. Yet the Tigers still get the win ! something the other teams mentioned above could not do with Just one player out.
