How many times are they going to step on their pecker with this Miles/ Michigan thing? we all know they are subpar journalists who just want to talk sports. there is not real skill in what they do.

Do you think they back off, press on to prove themselves or start kissing our arse and hope we forget?

everything I watched on ESPN today said that Miles talked to Michigan, that was it, they asked "why was he talking if he just signed the contract"..Miles issued a statement and answered the question. They read the statement on College football live and moved on.

yeah, because the Detroit Free Press leading off thier article with this first sentence without doing any valuable research into those reasons first didnt show any agenda what-so-ever right?:

They were only reporting what the DFP stated in the article.

Yeah...

Mark Snyder wrote the article..but Mitch Albom's DFP/ESPN connections had absolutely nothing to do with it........yeah.

My point was ESPN has an "out" here...they were just reporting what was there and it was not coming from them.

Thats still piss poor journalism...because then every other media outlet (cnn/fox) started reporting it after ESPN did.

Mike Greenberg didnt have to go off and say the idiocies he did this morning just based on the DFP article either.

Evidently, there is not a whole lot happening in the world of college football, and some of these idiots are going to go out and stir up the shitpot, even if it means making up a story, just so they can have something to draw some attention.

The best thing we can all do is ignore it.

Don't forget throwing the code words 'secret meeting' into the story to juice it.

Just reading the Wiki entry on 'Ethics in Journalism', the DFP is the posterboy today for how to break every cardinal journalistic rule concerning it.

And its suckers like NorthwesternTiger that fall for this hook link and sinker that ESPN/DFP unfortunately targets and grabs in.

The only problem now is that all of them may feel bad for us (like Herbie) and actually pick us to win. Imagine that Lou Holtz picking us to win
