After all that has happened, "not half bad" is unacceptable.

very true. This scenario wouldn't shock me based on how LSU hires coaches these days. As I said during the HC search expect to be surprised and disappointed.

We should just let the players call the plays in offense. I trust Danny. And he's free, by law.

I would hope not, but think about it. Right after Miles was fired, Alleva came out and claimed that he would go get a proven winning, offensive minded head coach. Two months later, the "search" becomes a complete circle jerk. Alleva then takes the expected cheap and easy way and keeps O after a master plan binder is presented by O. Part of the plan and O's press conference prioritizes the hiring of of a top tier, proven OC. Kiffin is rumored but is also named in some HC openings. So, we are no closer to having one named. Ensminger is from Louisiana and can be economically promoted. Sound familiar?

Good lord.

I would have to feed the hamsters Red Bull to keep up with the meltdown. It would make Chernobyl look like a campfire.

I never understood the desire to hire O because the offense improved but not keep the guy actually responsible for improving the offense. Then again, I didn't agree that hiring O was the best move so maybe the application of logic has no place here.

I say do it. He pretty much got O hired by running up the score against mizzou, OM, and aTm...I want to see if they can continue this domination.

Why bust up a good thang????

Well he's from here. So he's got a good shot at the OC job.

This isn't why O was hired

He was hired because:
- Alleva didn't land Jimbo or Herman
- Alleva freaked out and rushed to hire O to "avoid being embarrassed" by not landing JF or TH (had our man all along)
- Aranda's D killed it
- In the absence of Miles, the O looked very good against some terrible defenses
- LSU played Bama tougher than anyone all year
- LSU would've beaten FL had it not been for a Guice fumble, D. Jackson fumble on kick, botched FG
- O sold Alleva on the fact that he would FIX the offense by hiring a world class OC given the opportunity
- binder with a plan

It was never the case that O got hired because he improved the offense during his interim stint. He sold a desperate Alleva on getting an OC to match our DC. And he probably promised to reel in Kiffin.

All this thread does is remind me just how much I despise Alleva.

dunno why you guys don't want Ensminger

it's his offense that set all these records and got O the job

then again it's those same reasons why I now hate Steve's guts.

Ensminger's offense is not what got O the job.

It was all about O's sales pitch to an incompetent AD who left himself with no other options
