0 and Alleva are giving Ensminger one last look in the bowl game before offering him the OC position.

This feels like he got the no from Kiffin and now doesn't know what to do.

Or it feels like Kiffin told O he wants to coach Bama in the playoffs and O is going to wait until he's finished at Bama to announce Lane's hiring.

Also, speed is only important because we could have waited on Orgeron.

Speed wouldn't have mattered if it would have taken us Less than 24 hours to hire a Tom Herman *coughTexascough* or Jimbo. People only care about time in relation to ending up with Orgeron. If we had a 48 hour search and hired Gilbert (or even Kiffin) for OC, I doubt many would argue that we should have taken more time.

Time only matters when your eventuality is settling or getting a lesser hire. No one would care about a "longer time line" if we successfully hired a high value candidate.

Then why even bother firing BDP? Oh yeah because you needed some good PR.

Who gives a shite about this exhibition game? I don't expect you to have the guy on staff and be implementing his offense....but announcing it so you can use it on the recruiting trail sure wouldn't hurt

This is what everyone is upset about.

quote:

Well weren't the names in the binder? Didn't O ALREADY have elite coordinators committed before we offered him the job? Weren't the coordinators part of the offer itself? We hired O because he already had a bead on an OC and could keep Aranda. Aranda hasn't signed and now we don't have OC.

There is no plan. There never was a plan. Just throw some stuff on the wall and see what sticks with Orgeron driving the train all to save some money.

Wait now yall don't want O to take his time and do a proper OC search?!?!?
I have no problem at all with it taking time.

Many coordinators wont be looking till bowl season is over, still got time to swoop in and save most offensive recruits if the hire is right.

Everybody bowls these days. LSU is trying to get someone to make a lateral move and that's not gonna happen until after their bowl. Why would you leave now just to go do the same thing?
These coaches aren't all that for LSU like the fans are. They don't have any emotional attachment. They want to finish what they started and LSU will have to wait. I know Kiffin made it very clear that if Bama will let him, he wants to stay through the playoffs.

The only one that has any attachment is Ensminger.

None of you people know a damm thing. Everyone with sources was wrong at every turn. Ensminger already said he does not want to be OC

I think this is a good time to take a break from the coaching changes board for about a month.

Hiring your friends is why Miles was fired.

No, not at all. He was fired because he had zero capability to watch game film and recognize X, Y or Z as an issue and attempt, in any way, to address it. It wasn't just offense and the offenses issues antedated Cam.

The repetitive penalties, wasted time outs, poor play/game clock management were all here since year 1. But he won for a while so it didn't matter he was a bad, pitiful football coach. If you could recognize those issues and point them out you were just a negatiger.

We won a lot early on. But then Bama and everyone caught back up to our talent advantage. Now we couldn't just out-talent everyone anymore. We couldn't get better week in, week out because he liked his team and they fought damn hard.

Putting 10 random low # jerseys off the sidelines in for kickoffs and telling them to tackle the guy that catches it should be as effective if not moreso than BDP coaching them up.

Ensminger. Learn to love it. O was blowing smoke. Start booking your future Decembers for Orlando. I have a feeling we are going to get to know that place well.
