He doesn't have much reason to care about LSU in this situation.

honestly, if saban offers kiffin another year, its for no other reason than because he wants him there to have another run at the NC next year......which he will ultimately be in the running anyway, with or without kiffin, but why not keep the guy thats been there 3+ years.

I would guess that at this point in his career Saban does not stay up at night worrying about ANY other program. He worries about his team and his "process" It is boring and lacks any drama but it is the way to run a team, and a business....just like the Patriots.
I still think back at Les calling out Bama when Saban was hired and thought it was a bad move, it showed he was worried more about Saban than he should have been.

If he offers a contract it is likely because no one wants to change OC prior to a playoff run considering Saban is not an offensive mind. Losing Kiffin is worse than losing Smart.

Saban does not care about LSU. Its not a rivalry anymore. The other team has to win occasionally for it to a rivalry

If Kiffin doesn't get a HC gig this year, I predict he'll be back at Bama as OC.

Although I'd love to have him here, Kiffin's not coming to LSU as OC. That's a lateral move and no way he'll do that. He'll just stay at Bama one more year until he gets his HC job.

I think Saban will be fine with that because he'll have another year of outstanding offense and QB development and besides, his Sark backup plan seems to have died.

He's done at Bama. He's either going to be a head coach somewhere or OC at LSU.

No.
If Saban wanted Kiffin he would have offered an extension by now.
Saban wrung just about as much OC talent as Kiffin has in him during the rehabilitation tour. Kiffin's HC ambition can now be realized this year or next at worse. Saban will not sign a one year OC and neither should we!

A quality program wants their coordinators to last 3-5 years until someone else promotes their talent.

Therefore a one year LSU OC is a theoretical advantage for Sabin. Theory fell flat on it's arse with our DC however!

Saban would be doing LSU a huge favor by extending Kiffin. LSU needs to move on.

It wasn't going to matter if Les called out Bama or not. He just did it to rile up the LSU folk anyway.

Piss off? I'd be happy that we didn't land Kiffin.
