I think they over complicate things. They should simplify the defense and let the athletes be athletes and make plays.

I don't think it does. For the most part your defense has been fantastic. There will always be one or two teams a year that you don't match up well against, no matter the scheme or personnel.

bama would go a long way by recruiting a few non 6'4 255 pound LBs every year. that sounds great on the stats but when you are lined upa nd your LB is trying to cover a 4 star TE that runs a legit 4.6 on a cross route it's laughable.

the tempate to beat bama has been there forever. get the LB's in space, make them cover. can't do it. the 2011 team was about the only one I can remember that had the talent to cover like that and that team was chalk full of first rounders.

it's just few teams can do it.

I thought Saban was a defensive mastermind and Alabama didn't even need a DC?

How a team that struggled to beat a bad Arkansas team, at the time you played them, and a offensively poor LSU could be the number 1 seed was a joke.

Only bigger joke was Florida State being in the playoff at all.

They gave up 13 pts to both Arky and us. That's not their concern on D. It's the Malzahn's and the like that they are really struggling with even though they will usually have superior athletes. Scheme thing IMO.

I'm hoping Steele moves on, and Tosh Lupoi takes over at LB.

Bama has a great defense, but the fact is most of the offenses you beat are predictable ex. LSU. When you play teams with better offenses and really good defenses there is a 50/50 split. If Colt McCoy doesn't get that freak injury the 2008 NCG Texas has a good chance to beat you, and 2012 Georgia should have been #2 and gotten a rematch like ya'll did against us.
