Georgia: Seth Emerson who covers Georgia for DawgNation reports that a search firm has been hired (head scratcher there). Emerson adds that Kirby Smart remains the target but with Alabama in the SEC championship game and you know, Nick at the helm, it is unlikely Kirby would publicly take action this week. Per Emerson, regardless of who is hired, Jeremy Pruitt is not expected to be retained. FootballScoop continues to hear that Dan Mullen is the dark horse in this one.

would prob cost more than we're paying steele. good coach and recruiter but has a tendency to ruffle feathers and rub admins the wrong way. doesnt stay in one place very long.

Les loves Steele and will use the personnel excuse for our Ds struggles.
I don't buy it, but that'll be the company line. I really don't expect any staff changes that will excite people.

Steele was probably getting a 2nd year anyway, but the A&M game cemented it. It was by far the best the D looked all year. The busts are gone (and actually have been the last two weeks, for the most part). If he uses more man and the young guys play like they did this weekend, the D may not be amazing, but it should be better next year.
The stability of keeping him and O another year for recruiting is very important. We need the talent infusion this class will bring on D. That alone will help a lot next year.

If Smart takes the UGA job, Saban will hire Pruitt as DC. You can almost book that.
