... tells me that Fisher likely approached LSU - over the summer when he was in La. for a coaching clinic, or at some other time. (who knows?) I don't think LSU was looking to replace Miles this year. Certainly, at 7-0, it was not being considered. But the perceived willingness of Fisher to bolt FSU I think set gears in motion.

In other words, if Fisher had not make the overture, I don't think we'd be in this current situation. Fisher's perceived availability, not a burning desire to get rid of Les this year, drove events.

That's why, I do think this is going to happen, and Miles will be let go, and Fisher will come to LSU. Because I think, Fisher wants out of FSU. His agent appears to be squeezing as much money as he can, which is his job.

If the above is not what happened, then Joe Alleva is a fool and has seriously fricked LSU football. Because, I don't see how he can keep Les. The recruiting class will fall apart, b/c who wants to sign for a lame duck coach?

If it's not Fisher, then I would assume it will be Tom Herman or Chip Kelly. Either would be OK, in my opinion, but Alleva's job security should be in question.

Thank you.

I think Alleva and the powers that be need to figure out their absolute bottom line, and tell Sexton "this is it." If the assumption is correct that Fisher initiated contact, then he wants out of FSU and he'll take somewhere b/w $6M and $6.5M.

If not, frick him and frick Sexton, and hopefully this whole thing will reflect horribly not only on Alleva, but Sexton as well.

While hiring Tom Herman would be somewhat risky, I think he would bring a young, proven offensive mind and with LSU's talent, I would think would do well on the offensive side of the ball. Maybe couple him w/ Orgeron at def coordn.

I am fairly certain that wasn't LSU's plan and that this coaching "search" was Jimbo Fisher-specific, BUT, I think Herman would be an intriguing hire.

My feeling is they go after Kelly to save face as if they had him targeted all along. I think Herman would do great but I don't see them doing all of this so they can hire a up and comer

I still think it's more likely than not it will be Fisher. I think these leaks that "Miles may come back" are designed to send a message to Sexton to quit while he's ahead. He's smart enough I assume to deduce that Miles ain't coming back. However, if Alleva has any negotiating skills (?) he will tell Sexton, "look, I can hire Tom Herman for at least 2 mill less, I can hire Kirby Smart, and I might be able to hire Chip Kelly."

I felt it was going to be Chip the whole time.
