Chip doesn't have the personality to recruit at LSU.

I'm not sure he has the personality to recruit much anywhere at this point, but. I just don't think he has the good ol' boy charisma to go into a southern home and charm a mother into giving him her son for 4 years. Not over some of the other coaches he'd be competing with.

I am a huge fan of Chip Kelly, btw. I thought he'd tear up the NFL and still think he may in the right situation. He just seems like an NFL guy to me. Or at worst a west coast college, guy. I just can't see him in the SEC and especially not at LSU.

Saban is infinitely more charismatic than Chip. He comes across as having zero personality whatsoever. Maybe he's different behind closed doors, but I doubt.

Good thing there's 0% chance he will be the next LSU coach, then, right?

Name recognition alone will get him lots of recruits.

Meh. Those guys are pros. Saban doesn't come across as having the "good ole boy charisma" and he is known to be a tremendous in home visitor and parents love him. When you get paid millions to turn on the charm it tends to happen fairly easily.

According to my mom, grandmother, and Sandra Bullock in The Blind Side, Saban is a pretty good looking guy, and that's why he charms the moms so well. Then his football résumé speaks for itself with dads. And anyone he can't charm he can pay off so that's going for him too

I think some of the racist stuff he got blamed for when he came to Philly may still be in some young men's minds, especially since people really looked up to Shady McCoy. Now with that said, I think he would do just fine recruiting, he is a good football mind and is very articulate in his demeanor.

Doubting what Chip can do on the college level is just silly. He's proven himself and would be a great coach at whatever school in whatever conference he chooses to go to.
