Or it could be he's waiting on the Longhorn job. Or that Kirby already has massive recruiting connections in Georgia and the Southeast, so whatever advantages one solitary year as a HC gives Herman, the recruiting edge Smart has more than offsets that. Plus, Smart is a Georgia boy.

Not really that difficult to figure out.

If Herman can come in, get a miracle tipped pass for a TD, and a rare last-second (SWID?) FG return for a game winning TD, he might just be the next GOAT in waiting.

I do believe he is going to be great.

could be the next Bo Rein?

Sumlim was an up and coming coach

He looks like he might get fired soon...

but he's made 20 million off A&M..so he is set for life

Why would he leave when the current coach at his dream job might be gone in a week.

yup. lsu and uga where the only two realistic sec jobs he would leave for and neither hired him.

somehow, in all this madness, bama will end up with him. would be typical.

strong is probably coming back next year, and i think herman would've taken the uga or usc jobs. lsu if it would have been open. he's not taking any other jobs. so if charlie can't win 8 games next year, it'll be tom herman in austin.

if not, hopefully les miles retires and we can hire herman.

what about herman beating the everliving shite outta smart and saban's defense head up? what about herman needing to go to tuscaloosa to explain how he whipped their asses?

gtfo with comparing smart to herman. that's silly. take away herman's one year as a hc and he still has a better resume than smart. smart just rode saban's coat tails.

Herman saw how hard it is to win in the SEC and said no thanks I'll keep winning 10 games here and wait for Ohio St., FSU, Notre Dame, Texas, or a non-dumpster fire power program to open up.

Why do people keep saying this? Florida won 10 games this year. UGA won 9. Those teams aren't that good.

You can make the argument if he took the LSU job that would be an issue, but UGA has an easier path to 10 wins annually

Look, I understand when you root for a team with Cam, Steele and O on the staff you just assume all coordinators and coaches are terrible and unqualified.

But, try not to be such a jealous little bitch.

People have been assuming for a long time that Kirby Smart wouldn't make a good HC. I'm excited to see what the man can do.

I hope and pray that the reason he has no one really going after him is he has a plan to come over to LSU in a couple of years

I know a pipe dream. But he is really the only guy I would have taken a chance on to replace Les.

He has said several times that he wants the Texas job and the Texas job only. Being at UH is a stepping stone and give home a chance to form relationships with local players and coaches.

He has Texas roots/ties. Rumored to be holding out for sip or Aggy.

He is waiting on the Texas job, it offers an easier path to the playoffs than any sec job.

If lsu is open i think he listens. He has no way of knowing when Texas opens. Charlie could turn it around and be there for a while.
